I’m not going to lie. I’ve found the first 6 months of life with two kiddos to be, to put in mildly, exhausting! That said, I sure do love this little guy! He has brought immeasurable joy to our lives. Happy half birthday Q!

I did a newborn session this past weekend for my good friends Michelle and Andrew. Their new little girl is just the sweetest thing. I’m still working on the photos, but wanted to post one of my favorites. I just love their looks of joy. They couldn’t be happier with their new addition!

I haven’t been the best blogger lately, but before 2012 arrives I wanted to post one more 2011 session that I did with a truly amazing family. When I first met Jessie, we were both pregnant with our little girls. Jessie was my yoga teacher. She was incredibly helpful and inspiring during this time and has continued to be ever since. She is one of the strongest people I know. It was wonderful observing her family and their playful interactions. I love the expressions on little Miss L; they so capture the mood! I wish their family a wonderful 2012!

It’s December 1st and my kiddos are ready for the holidays!

I’m learning that with a newborn it takes 2 months to do what it used to take me 2 weeks to do. I finally had a chance to edit and post some photos of my little guy from his early days. I can’t believe how much bigger he is already! He is sitting on my lap gurgling (or perhaps commenting on his photos?) at this very moment. I think my favorites are the ones we took outside in the garden. Q was an excellent little model!

I’ve taken a bit of a hiatus from the blog because we welcomed Baby Quinn into our family at the end of August! Everyone tells you having two is a lot different than one and more than twice the work. I don’t think I fully understood this until the arrival of our second child. Quiet moments are few and far between, but I just love watching the relationship that is already developing between these two kiddos and the love. I took lots of photos of Baby Q during his first few curled up, sleepy, newborn weeks and I’ll be posting some soon. For now, here are just a few early shots of the siblings. So sweet.

I’ve been a very delinquent blogger. Below is a post I actually started several months ago, but somehow it never got posted!!

There’s nothing like an old friend. I’ve known Cristin and Robyn since I was 11. They’ve seen me through good times and bad. They know what makes me ME. We have always been an unlikely trio; we have such completely different personalities. Somehow these differences have continued to bring us together over the years. Though we live in different states, we manage to get together once, sometimes twice a year. C and R visited me here in Sac back in March. I decided I wanted to do something different and memorable for our girls weekend. I asked my friend and teacher, Katrina Kennedy, to do a photoshoot with us. Below are a few of Katrina’s wonderful images. I will always treasure my friendship with Cristin and Robyn and I will always treasure these photos.

I’d love to do more of this kind of photoshoot myself. I love photographing friendship. Contact me if you and your friends are interested! I’m about to go on maternity leave for a few months so just give me some advance notice.

I can’t believe Elika is one! I was fortunate to take maternity photos of her momma a few weeks before she arrived- photos are here- and then capture some newborn shots when she was just a week old-see here. And now she is one and just the cutest thing ever with all that hair, and those cheeks… Her parents are in trouble. See the photo below of Elika looking up intently with those big eyes, well you just can’t say no to that!

I guess it makes sense that you tend to meet families with kids born right around the same time as yours. It is birthday season for us; July and August are packed with parties. Fun times! We kicked off the weekend with O’s superhero party– very impressive! Check out the figurine cake and O’s mom had a decorate your own cape station (for about 18 kids!!!)… don’t know how she put it all together.

We didn’t have a theme for my daughter’s party, but I did attempt to make some cute cupcakes. I’m not much of a baker or decorator, but I think they came out okay and from the looks on the kids’ faces it seems like they went over pretty well!

What a sweet family. Big brother was a bundle of energy so we were constantly on the move. Little brother got tired and took a power nap, but woke up in a great mood. It was the perfect weather for photos. Thanks W family for a fun session!
